This series was inspired by the dinner plates we had at the time. We had been using plain white dinner plates from Ikea for years and over time, they started to show light grey marks on the surface. These were the marks we made with our knives and forks as we ate our family meals. Washing dishes one day I noticed that the marks had begun to for patterns within the plates. I decided to photograph them, but the light grey marks on the white plate didn’t really stand out to me. I began to play with the images in photoshop and introduced some color and then began to flip and rotate the images and put them together like puzzle pieces. This is what came from that experimentation.
