In 2014 I started a documentary project, called War Was Here, about the civil war in Georgia and what our landscape looked like now compared to 1864. While photographing many locations across the state, I eventually began to run into reenactors and living history participants. Below you will find a selection of images from reenactors. They were taken at about 6 different events and at several of them, I was able to “dress out” as a federal soldier and cover my cameras with burlap. This allowed me to be on the “battlefield” with the reenactors. This was a really interesting experience to have.
